The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

We are excited to celebrate our 100th and 101st days of school! Our teachers have many fun and exciting activities planned. We will continue with our original plan of celebrating the 100th day on 1/25 and the 101st day on 1/26.

  • 1/25 - 100th Day of School (WE ARE 100 DAYS BRIGHTER!) (Wear NEON & BRIGHT Clothing)

  • 1/26 - 101st Day of School (Dress like a DALMATIAN in BLACK & WHITE)

Pre-Absence Requests

Please note that pre-absence forms must be submitted five days prior to the first date of the absence. This will allow your child's teacher adequate time to prepare assignments for the absence period. If this form is submitted less than five days from the absence, the student will receive the missing work upon return.

Upcoming Events

  • 1/17 - School Holiday/No School

  • 1/25 - 100th Day of School (WE ARE 100 DAYS BRIGHTER!) (Wear NEON & BRIGHT Clothing) More details to come.

  • 1/26 - 101st Day of School (Dress like a DALMATIAN in BLACK & WHITE) More details to come.

Power Verse: “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers...”  1 Timothy 4:12

What’s Up: “I’ll Remember The Great Commission!”

Power Verse: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19

Important Reading Update for 1st -3rd

Student login information for Lower School's reading curriculum will be sent home this week. This resource provides families with an opportunity to review vocabulary words, grammar skills, and spelling patterns through interactive games. In addition, students can review the reading story that is read throughout the week in class. Teachers have beautifully woven a Biblical perspective within each lesson to connect and apply God's truths throughout this curriculum. As you navigate the online resource, we encourage parents to discuss those Biblical principles with their child as they will not be evident in the curriculum itself. As with any online learning, we recommend parent supervision. We feel this resource will strengthen the partnership between the classroom and home to ensure academic success for all students. Should you need any assistance navigating this online resource, please contact your child’s teacher or Leslie Cook at leslie.cook@tcslions.org.

Mid-Year Assessments

As we begin the second semester, we want to ensure that your student is continuing to grow academically. Over the next few weeks, students will begin taking their mid-year assessments. These assessments help us to identify your student’s academic strengths and weaknesses. This data allows us to create an academic plan of improvement tailored to your child and the grade level as an entity. Your child does not need to study for these assessments, nor should there be any stress placed on your child to perform well. This is simply a way to chart their growth, thus far, in targeted areas. Please check your student’s class page in Blackbaud for further details.

Last Week in Chapel

Pastor Kami finished up our 4 week Chapel series about Thankfulness. This week’s emphasis was on Thanking God for including us. Our Bible story was from Luke 19 about Zacchaeus. We saw how after encountering Jesus, Zacchaeus thanked the Lord not only with his words, but through his acts of generosity in paying back everyone he had stolen from. When we truly encounter the Lord, our hearts can’t help but be changed, which spurs us on to action.

Main Focus: We can thank God by giving back.

Bible Verse: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done.” I Chronicles 16:8

Challenge: Look for additional ways we can show our thankfulness to the Lord by giving generously to others

We also celebrated the generosity of our Trinity families through the bringing in of so many Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes.

This week’s emphasis was on Thanking God for blessing us. Our Bible story was from Luke 17:11-19 about the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus, but only one returned to give thanks to Him.

Main Focus: God has blessed every one of us richly. Every good thing we have comes from God.

Bible Verse: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done.” I Chronicles 16:8

Challenge:Counting our blessings is a good reminder of God’s love. Next time you or your child is feeling down, count your blessings. See how high you can count before you break into praise for all God has done.

The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

As we begin to finish our parent/teacher conferences, I have been reflecting on how wonderful it is to have our families back on campus this year. I am so thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness as we navigated the pandemic together and have now been able to operate in a way that more resembles normalcy. Bringing our families on campus for conferences, birthday parties, holiday performances, lunch opportunities, volunteerism, and field trips has been such a blessing. Thank you for your partnership and support! This is our Trinity community! This is the Trinity Way!

Our Preschool Thanksgiving programs are just around the corner! I am so excited to offer a fun, new experience for our families! Our preschoolers will perform on stage in our High School Auditorium. Please stay after your child’s performance for a Fall celebration. We will have Fall themed games and an inflatable on the athletic field and will be providing family hayrides around the Trinity campus. The Not As Famous Cookie Company food truck will be here selling cookies, hot chocolate, ice cream, and more. Be sure to stop by our festive Fall display for a family photo! This event will be open from 5:00-8:00pm.

Last Week in Chapel

Pastor Kami continued our Chapel series about Thankfulness. This week’s emphasis was on Thanking God for the Gift of Salvation through His Son Jesus. Our Bible story was from Luke 7:36-50 about the woman who thanked Jesus for His great love and forgiveness by washing His feet with her tears and drying them with her hair. Our friends Kevin and Riley blessed us by leading a song of worship through song and drums.

Main Focus: God’s greatest gift is Jesus, and we want to have attitudes of gratitude toward Him.

Bible Verse: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done.” I Chronicles 16:8

Challenge: Remind your children of what Jesus has done for us and thank Him daily with your kids.

We will end our first nine-weeks on October 8th, so please encourage your child to finish strong this week!

Classroom Highlight

Our K4 students have been learning all about our school environment and how it honors God to take care of our school and classrooms. Our students learned about cooperation and kindness and how these characteristics can be displayed to others. Last Friday, our K4 students finished the week with a visit to the Principal’s office. We had a great time together, as I talked to them about my typical day and the role I serve in our amazing school! What an honor it was to host these precious little lions in my office! To top it off, I gave each one their very own stuffed Trinity lion!

This week In Chapel

Pastor Kami continued our series about the Fruit of the Spirit. She taught about Faithfulness - both God’s faithfulness to us and His desire for us to be faithful to Him and to others. We learned about God’s faithfulness through the story of Joseph from Genesis 37-50. Pastor Kami’s husband, Ben Heilman (the Family Life Director at Trinity Church) led the students in a worship song.

Main Focus: Because God is forever faithful to me, He enables me to be faithful to Him.

Bible Verse: “Faithfulness is Your very character.” Psalm 89:8

Whatchagaddaknow: “God wants me to be faithful!”

House System for 1st-3rd Grades

In the elementary and middle school at Trinity, we have implemented a House System to build opportunities for unity, leadership, and peer relationships. Pastor Kami taught about Goodness and how when we are close to God we will be more like Him. Because He is good, we can be good as we grow closer to Him. We learned about God’s goodness through the Bible story from John 5:1-15 when Jesus healed a lame man. Two exciting guests helped lead our students in a worship song - our beloved friends Kevin & Riley.

Main Focus: Goodness means I am more like God.

Power Verse: “Imitate God, therefore; in everything you do, because you are His dear children.” Ephesians 5:1

Whatchagaddaknow: "If I want to be Good, I gotta be like God!”
