The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

Last week we began Lower School Chapel! We had a wonderful time worshiping together. We have a few new things we are doing this year in Chapel that I hope your family will enjoy. We will be providing you with a family devotion that relates to each week’s Chapel lesson. This is a great opportunity to expand on what we are studying in Chapel and to make the lesson relevant to your child’s life. More details can be found below, including the link to our first devotion! We also began Connection Group Time in our Early Learning Chapel. Preschool and kindergarten students will gather together for Chapel to worship and learn that’s week’s lesson. Then, we will break into small groups (Connection Group Time) where students will go more in depth about that week’s lesson and complete an activity. We are excited about our Connection Groups time! Lastly, I have plans to start a 3rd grade worship team! More details coming soon. I am excited to provide leadership opportunities for our third graders to use the gifts and talents the Lord has given them to lead others in worship. Each week, be sure to read Inside the Pride’s Lower School section called “Last Week in Chapel” (located below) to be informed about what your child is learning each week.

Upcoming Events

  • August 21st - PICTURE DAY - More details to come soon

  • August 28th - HOUSE COLOR DAY for 1st-3rd (Students are encouraged to wear a House color shirt, regular dress code bottoms are required, no hats)

  • August 31st - FAVORITE FOOTBALL TEAM DRESS DOWN DAY (Students may wear their favorite football team jersey or t-shirt, No hats except for TCS hats)

  • September 1st - REMOTE LEARNING DAY - No School

  • September 4th - SCHOOL HOLIDAY - No School

Last Week in Chapel

We had a great time in Chapel this week! Mrs. Randolph began a series called CHURCH: A Fun Place with a Series Mission”. In last week’s lesson, the children learned  the history of the CHURCH and why the church is so important in the life of a Christian. God created the CHURCH. God commanded that we be faithful to CHURCH. Most of all, we need the CHURCH to live a thriving life on mission.

Whatchagaddaknow: “God Made The Church For You And Me!”

Each week, we will share a digital link to a family devotion that correlates to the previous week’s Chapel lesson. We hope that these family devotions provide an opportunity for you to connect as a family, grow together spiritually, and help your children apply the spiritual truths we are learning in Chapel.

Staying Informed and Up-to-date with Classroom Happenings

To stay informed of what’s happening in your child’s classroom, please login into Blackbaud weekly. You will be able to see information such as weekly classroom announcements, upcoming events, weekly academic focus, grades, attendance, etc. This is the key to staying informed and replaces hardcopy newsletters. I encourage you to login each week. Information will be updated each Sunday at 5pm.

  • Login to your Blackbaud account and select your child's name under "Children".

  • After selecting the homeroom class, you will see the teacher's main class page where you will locate upcoming dates, class reminders and news.

  • Select the "Topics" tab to see specific information for each individual subject. Within each subject folder, you will see a plan for the week and upcoming projects and test information.

Important Dismissal Information For PreK4 and Kindergarten Parents/Students Only

Have you registered for PickUp Patrol? Have you confirmed your child’s default dismissal plan?

Getting started:

REGISTER: You will receive a registration email with a link to set up your account. The web app is free to parents and you can use it from your smartphone or computer.

For easy access, follow the instructions in your registration email for how to add it to your phone’s home screen (PUP is not accessed through the app stores).

If you are already registered (had a student here last year), you can log in to PUP and set your child's default plan.

ENTER DEFAULT PLANS: Once you register, log into your PickUp Patrol account by Monday, August 7 to confirm your child’s default dismissal plan. It’s important that you complete this step so that we can accurately dismiss your children.

How it works:

Your child's regular dismissal plan is entered into the system. This is called their Default Plan. Then whenever you have a change to the Default Plan, you’ll submit it through the PUP app. When the change is submitted, the school will be notified.

PLEASE NOTE:  Changes must be submitted by 12:00pm on the day of the change.  You will not be able to make changes after the 12:00pm deadline.

Important Dismissal Information for Main Campus Students (1st-3rd)

Parents, We have partnered with the company safeDISMISSAL.COM to facilitate our dismissal process for our Early Learning campus (PreK-3 through Kinder) and our Main Campus (1st - 8th grades). One of the many wonderful features of this dismissal process is that your children will remain comfortably and safely in their classroom until the moment they meet you in the "car loading zone".

Here are a few tips to follow during our dismissal process:

  • Please make sure to have your ‘pick-up’ card displayed in your front window when entering the dismissal line. Please keep your card displayed until your child has been loaded into your car.

  • Please stay in-line (no passing) during dismissal as the children will be instructed to walk to specific spots for loading.

  • To reduce your wait time, please keep up with the car in front of you.  Stay attentive and focused on the car line.

  • If your student does not arrive at the loading spot before you do, you may be instructed to move to a "waiting" area where your child will be notified again. We ask you to move to this area so that we do not hold up the remaining dismissal line.

  • Please note:  Your child is assigned to be picked up at a particular spot according to the order of cars in line each day.  Please follow the car in front of you until the line stops, regardless of where you might or might not see your child.  Stopping before the line has filled will cause the sequence to be thrown off and delay the line.  We will get your child to the proper spot should they have gone to the wrong place.

Finally, we ask for your patience the first couple of weeks of school as everyone gets accustomed to the process.  It will get faster/better each day!

The administrators and teachers are committed to making this process beneficial to all parties. Please visit www.safeDISMISSAL.com for more information.  Below are a couple of helpful resources to further explain the process.

Last Week in Chapel

We will officially begin Chapel this coming Wednesday! I encourage you to read this section each week for information about what we are learning during our Chapel time. Each week, we will have a rotation of leaders who teach the week’s lesson - Sherry Randolph (LS Principal), Ashley Moore (Director of Student Life), Jennifer Duncan (Director of LEO program), and Kami Heilman (Trinity Church Children’s Pastor). We are excited about this special time to worship together and grow in our walk with Christ.

Online Curriculum Resource

Student login information for Lower School's reading curriculum will be sent home soon! This resource provides families with an opportunity to review vocabulary words, grammar skills, and spelling patterns through interactive games. In addition, students can review the reading story that is read throughout the week in class. Teachers have beautifully woven a Biblical perspective within each lesson to connect and apply God's truths throughout this curriculum. As you navigate the online resource, we encourage parents to discuss those Biblical principles with their child as they will not be evident in the curriculum itself. As with any online learning, we recommend parent supervision. We feel this resource will strengthen the partnership between the classroom and home to ensure academic success for all students. When you login, select the reading book image to launch the online program.

Meet Our New Staff

Angela Payne

Please welcome Angela Payne to our 2nd grade team! Angela Payne was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She just recently moved to Peachtree City with her husband and kids. She has a 16 year old daughter, an almost 7 year old son, and a fluffy daughter (Maltipoo) who is 3. Angela is a big Dodgers fan, but admits that she is willing to learn to root for the Braves (when they aren't playing the Dodgers of course!). She graduated from UCLA with a BA in Sociology.  After teaching Kindergarten-4th grade for 17 years with the Los Angeles Unified School District, she became the preschool coordinator at her local church, while also giving alter-prayer after service. After a 2 year hiatus, Angela realized that she truly missed teaching. What a blessing it was for her to be offered a job teaching second grade at Trinity Christian School! She is so excited for this new, God-filled, adventure ahead!

Olivia Williams

I am happy to introduce Olivia Williams who will be teaching 2nd grade this year. Olivia has been teaching for 7 years. She has previously taught pre-k and has spent her last three years teaching first grade. Olivia received her Bachelor's Degree from Brenau University and her Master's Degree from Georgia College both in Early Childhood Education. She is very excited to move up to second grade this year and help her students become successful and confident learners! Olivia and her husband have two boys, Noah and Levi, who will be attending Trinity this fall in 6th and 4th grade respectively. In her spare time she enjoys traveling.  After visiting the Grand Canyon this past fall she has a new goal to visit as many National Parks as she can. When she is not traveling she enjoys spending time with her family and cooking new recipes! She is very happy to be joining the Trinity family and helping her students grow both academically and in their love of our Lord!

Last Week in Chapel

Last week in chapel we focused on a healthy biblical perspective to the question "WHO am I?".  We learned that we are each His masterpiece and called to do special things. Through the story of Samuel anointing David as King, we learned that God calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things for His Kingdom. As we embrace the truth of who we are through God's eyes we see Him do amazing things in our lives!

Power Verse: Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

Last Week in Chapel

Last week Pastor Kami finished off our chapel series on Psalm 23.  Our dear friends Riley & Kevin helped lead us in worship to the song, “Goodness of God." We saw the similarities between the story of King David and Mephibosheth and our own story of how God cares for us and invites us to join Him at His table and in His home in heaven. We learned the final verse of this beautiful psalm in which David wrote, “Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” We were reminded that God shows His goodness and love to us every day (even on the bad days) and that His goodness and love NEVER run out!

Last Week in Chapel

Last week in Chapel Pastor Kami taught us how we are honored and blessed because we belong to the Lord. After hearing the Bible story of the prophet Samuel anointing David as the next king of Israel, we looked at Psalm 23:5, “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.” We learned what our Bible verse meant line by line.

When we are in the midst of a battle with our enemy (satan) or going through a really hard time, we can cry out the Lord, our Good Shepherd, and He lets us know that He will fight for us. We learned how God honors us when we follow Him. He looks at us and says, “This is My son. This is My daughter. I have chosen him/her. I have a plan for them. They follow Me. They are precious to Me. I want everyone to know that I have set them apart for something special.” And lastly we talked about how God blesses us with an overflowing cup of His goodness and mercy. His blessings are not just once in a while, but continuous as we follow Him - like His peace, comfort, healing, joy, and His presence.

Next week we will finish this chapel series on the 23rd Psalm. Hopefully your son/daughter will be able to tell you what the whole chapter says and how Jesus is our Good Shepherd.

Last Week in Chapel

Last week in Chapel Pastor Kami taught verse 4 of Psalm 23, in which David wrote, “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and staff protect and comfort me.” We learned that going through dark valleys is a guaranteed part of life, but as the verse says - we walk THROUGH them. We don’t stay there. And as we are walking through, Jesus our Good Shepherd is with us.

Last week in Chapel, Pastor Kami continued the series “The Lord is My Shepherd” as she taught about Resting in God. We learned the second verse of Psalm 23 which says, “He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.”

Through the story of Mary & Martha, we learned that there is only ONE place to go when we are feeling stressed. Our Good Shepherd leads us to a place of peace when we are stressed, and that peace is found in God’s presence.

Last Week in Chapel

Last week in Chapel Pastor Kami began a 6 week series called “The Lord is My Shepherd”, which focuses on who God is based on Psalm 23. Each week the kids will learn 1 verse from David’s famous psalm and the first verse says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” Pastor Kami told the parable from Luke 15 about the shepherd who left 99 sheep in order to go find the missing one. The 3 main points to the lesson were:

  1. God wants to be OUR shepherd

  2. When we follow God, He gives us ALL that we need

  3. We must CHOOSE to make God our shepherd
