ALL THINGS THEATRE

**NEW** ACT (Association of Christian Thespians)

Trinity Christian School has the honor of hosting a new club here in Coweta County, bringing together students who are passionate about both theatre and their faith. The Association of Christian Thespians, or ACT, was founded by MJ Poling, a Junior and active member of Troupe 8184 here at TCS, with the vision of creating a space where Christian thespians can connect, grow, and worship together. "If someone were to ask me to sum up who I am in two words, my response would be simple: theater and Jesus," MJ shared in her invitation to others. "As an actor and a Christian, I have always wrestled with what it looks like to join these two parts of my life. How can I make theater a part of my faith journey? How does my faith affect how I approach theater and performance?" Through conversations with her peers, MJ realized that others shared the same longing, leading to the birth of ACT.

Our first and inaugural meeting for ACT took place this past week on March 6th, with 13 students from three local schools—Trinity Christian, Whitewater, and Northgate. The topic for the evening was offering ourselves as living sacrifices, reminding students of their purpose both as performers and as followers of Christ. "Do what you do to the best of your ability – that is worship to the Lord," MJ encouraged the group, emphasizing the idea that excellence in theatre can be a form of worship when done with the right heart. She also challenged them to rethink where their worth comes from, stating, "You're not waiting for the applause from people anymore – that is not where your worth comes from. God's applause is all we should look for."

Looking ahead, ACT is excited to continue providing a space for Christian thespians to meet, worship, and learn together. The next meeting will take place in April, where more topics on faith and theatre will be explored through discussions, worship, and messages from both students and guest speakers. ACT is more than just a club; it's a community where students can bond over their shared love for theatre and Jesus, strengthening their faith and their craft together.

If you feel led to support this growing club or have more questions, please reach out to Lizzie Perez at lizzie.perez@tcslions.org.

INSTRUMENT REPAIR

We use Big Note Music for on site repair of many of our musical instruments.  If you have an instrument that needs repair as the school year begins, this may be a great option for you.  The process works with you filling out an online form, pre-paying for the repair, and then they come for a scheduled repair session right on our Trinity campus.  Your student wouldn’t be away from their instrument except when it’s on the repair table.  This convenient option has worked for us for a few years now.  Simply fill out the online form and let us know that a repair has been scheduled.
