SOUTHERN STAR BAND FESTIVAL
This Friday, March 25th, our 7th & 8th Grade Band and our High School Chamber Group will both be performing at the Southern Star Band Festival at Six Flags, Atlanta. This is a fun festival where each group will perform two songs for judges, and then will receive feedback and an on-stage clinic. It is a wonderful opportunity for our groups to perform at a higher level, and is part of our evolution as our band program continues to grow.
And then on Saturday we will return to Six Flags for a day of fun together and the closing ceremony of the festival that evening. Make sure to encourage these students for all of their extra hard work! Their performances are going to be amazing!
PERFORMING ARTS AWARDS NIGHT
Mark your calendars! New this year, we will be having our first annual Performing Arts Awards Night on Thursday, April 21st at 7pm. This will be a special event where we will honor our star students in each of our groups, including Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Theatre and Marching Lions. Join us as we pull out the red carpet. Our concerts are quickly approaching. And the students have all made such great progress! Please see below for concert information. This was also in your syllabus and here on Inside the Pride - we keep the calendar updated all year!

VARSITY MARCHING LIONS - MATERIALS & AUDITIONS
We are continually expanding our Marching Band, including Winds, Drum Corps and Color Guard. This year we plan to meet with students May 4-6 for a number of reasons as we plan the 2022 Marching Lions season:
Auditions for instrument placement in the Drum Corps
Uniform fittings to get our uniform orders in sooner
Materials in each student’s hands to prepare for camp and the season
Brush up on our Color Guard fundamentals
A full schedule of the summer and into the fall season
Please plan to join us after school on March 4, 5 and 6, daily from 3:30-5:00pm, to have everything you need in place for a successful marching season!
VARSITY MARCHING LIONS - SUMMER BAND CAMP
Each summer we host our annual Marching Lions Band Camp. This is for all students participating in the Varsity Marching Lions, and includes Drum Corps, Pep Band and Color Guard. Please submit the Google Form (link below) to reserve your student’s spot. We are growing, and have lots of exciting surprises in store for the 2022 marching band season. Sign up today!!

MIDDLE SCHOOL DRUM CORPS
The Middle School Drum Corps has become a highlight for 6th through 8th graders. This is the training ground for our future Varsity Drum Corps members once these students reach High School, and is a lot of fun! We rehearse and then perform at all Middle School home football games.
This summer we plan to rehearse as middle school only (not together with the Varsity Corps). We will have a separate set of dates this summer to prepare for the upcoming season. More information to come. Interested? Please fill out the form below:
