A MESSAGE FROM MR. VINSON

We are having a blast celebrating your children here at the end of the school year. From Performing Arts concerts to the Upper Elementary Talent Show, we are continuing to see the incredible talents and gifts of our students on display. I can’t wait to acknowledge more of our students at the upcoming end of the year programs as well as our 5th grade walk. The countdown for summer is becoming real! Let’s finish these last week and a half strong!

LAST WEEK IN CHAPEL

Mr. Higgins led our students in a wonderful time of recapping some of their favorite truths learned in chapel over the course of this school year. It was a great time of worship - singing and celebrating God’s goodness together!

MAY MEMORY VERSE: JAMES 1:2-3 (ESV)

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

LIONS OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to the following students that were nominated by their teachers for making good choices or setting a good example recently.

  • 4th Grade = Jackson Conant

  • 5th Grade = Ryleigh Tilley

***LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL DRESS CODE***

Students may wear jeans with TCS spirit wear (Friday dress code) for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the final week of school (May 24-26).

“DRESS LIKE A PIRATE” DAY

To celebrate the upcoming elementary performance of Treasure Island on Saturday, May 15, all of the elementary school is invited to dress like a pirate on Friday, May 14. Students may also wear normal Friday spirit wear attire if they choose.

5TH GRADE WALK - “Aloha to Elementary”

All of our 5th grade parents are invited to join us on Wednesday, May 26 at 10 am (arrive by 9:45 am) - **NOTE: DATE CHANGE** - to celebrate our 5th graders completing their elementary journey and taking their first steps into middle school. This year’s theme is “Aloha (Farewell) Elementary” so we are encouraging 5th graders to come in their best beach/Hawaiian outfits - think boardshorts, t-shirts, floral button-ups, sunglasses, flip flops, etc (please no bathing suits). All 5th grade parents should line the walkway where students are typically dropped off and picked up each day (driveway parallel to the baseball field). Please bring signs, noisemakers, balloons, etc. to celebrate your child! We will conclude the walk with a special time of prayer over our 5th graders in the gym. Students may be checked out at the conclusion of the 5th grade walk. Teachers will be available so you can sign your child out.

You WILL NOT have to go through the Main Office either upon your arrival or when departing with your child.

RISING 6TH GRADE INFORMATION MEETING

Rather than having an in-person meeting, I will be moving my yearly “Welcome to Middle School” meeting to a virtual format. More details to come, but I wanted to make sure all of our 5th grade families knew that information is coming regarding the transition to middle school. We are excited to welcome our 5th graders to middle school!
