A Message from the Principal

Honoring Our Veterans

As we approach Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our country with courage, faith and sacrifice. Your dedication to protecting our freedoms and serving others reflects the very heart of Christ.  Thank you for your service and may God bless you and your families. On Monday, November 10th, our High School Beta Club will be sponsoring the Annual Veterans Dinner.  This special evening will be a time of fellowship and gratitude as we celebrate those who have served.  Please see registration information in the main page of Inside The Pride.

Mr. Wheeler’s Weekly Word of Encouragement

As we take time this week to reflect on service and sacrifice, may we remember that true greatness is found in giving of ourselves. Jesus said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26). Let’s continue to model gratitude, humility and servant-hearted leadership in all we do.

Last week in Chapel

Mr. Ryan Tipton, head of our Bible department, gave an incredible word to our student body this last week.

Jesus teaches his disciples to pray with dependence, humility, and trust in God’s provision, forgiveness, and protection. In asking, “Give us this day our daily bread,” believers express reliance on God for daily needs rather than future security, remembering that all good gifts come from Him (James 1:17). This prayer invites gratitude and contentment, reminding us to seek needs, not greed (James 4:3).

“Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” calls Christians to continual confession, not to regain salvation but to maintain fellowship with God. A forgiven heart is a forgiving heart—those who have received mercy must extend it (Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13). Jesus warns that unforgiveness reveals a heart untouched by grace (Matthew 18:21–35).

“Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” expresses dependence on God for moral and spiritual protection. Though God does not tempt, He allows testing to strengthen faith (James 1:13–15). Believers pray to be spared from trials that would overwhelm them and to be delivered from the schemes of Satan, the “evil one.” God faithfully provides a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Ultimately, this prayer reveals our God who gives, forgives, and guards His people. It shapes the believer’s heart to align with God’s will, fostering gratitude, humility, and obedience. Through Christ—our substitute who endured temptation and conquered evil—we are sustained, cleansed, and delivered by the Father’s grace.

SAVE THE DATE!: COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

The counseling department is hosting a college financial aid workshop on Monday, Nov. 17th from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Student Activities Center in Building 1. Ben Meadows from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be here to discuss the Hope Scholarship, state aid programs and share details about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This will be an informative meeting for seniors and their parents looking at ways to pay for college and complete all the necessary college financial aid documentation.

NOVEMBER - APPLY TO COLLEGE MONTH

Georgia Apply to College (GAC) is part of the American College Application Campaign, a national initiative of ACT's Center for Equity in Learning to increase the number of students accessing postsecondary education. In support of GAC each year, the Governor has proclaimed November to be Georgia Apply to College Month.

Many schools within Georgia waive their application fees during the month of November. In support of this initiative, the counseling department will be encouraging our seniors to apply to at least one college in the month of November.

11th GRADE PSAT RESULTS

PSAT results for 11th grade students who took the recent administration in October have been released. Students can find their results by logging in to their College Board account. We will also have the results posted in their Blackbaud dashboard as soon as possible.

FALL SEMESTER GRADES

The first semester is rapidly moving along, as we only have five weeks left in the grading period. Students should be aware of their current grade in each one of their classes and connect with their teacher for ways to improve their grade. This would include getting assignments completed on time, turning in late work that can still be accepted and using their Do-Over assignment opportunities if they have not already done so.

All failed courses remain on the transcript. Any course that is not passed will have to be made up in order to receive the necessary credit for graduation. Students who fail a semester course will be notified by the counseling department of their options for completing failed courses

SAT DATES FOR 2025-26

Registration for fall and spring administration of the SAT is now live. You can register online here through the College Board.

Seniors should consider taking the SAT during the fall semester of 2025 to improve their score for college admissions or scholarship opportunities.

Juniors should target the spring semester of 2026 for their first administration.
