The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

We are so excited to celebrate Read Across America this week! Our students (thank you, parents!) always have the best, most adorable outfits! I can’t wait to see them! I encourage you to have your child participate in our Lower School Reading Challenge this week as well! It is so important that our young students develop a love for reading. The benefits of reading are endless. Developing a healthy practice of reading will improve your child’s vocabulary, imagination, creativity, concentration, while also helping your child perform better academically. Oh, what a fun week this will be!

Monday: Crazy Hat Day (Wear your favorite/crazy hat along with a regular uniform).

Tuesday: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish (Wear red and blue). If your child participates, they do not need to wear a regular uniform.

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday (Wear mismatched/backwards clothes). If your child participates, they do not need to wear a regular uniform.

Thursday: Thing 1 and Thing 2 Day (Dress like Thing 1 and Thing 2 OR dress identical to a friend). If your child participates, they do not need to wear a regular uniform.

Friday: Crazy Sock Day (Wear your craziest socks along with a TCS spirit wear shirt and uniform bottoms or jeans).

Lower School Reading Challenge

The Lower School is excited to announce that our classes will be celebrating Read Across America through a friendly reading contest. As a tribute to Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the contest will begin Monday, February 28th and continue until Sunday, March 6th. On February 28th, your child will bring home a reading log in their purple folder. Students are encouraged to color in a ‘box’ for every 5 minutes they read per day. Students may read independently or with a parent. Please turn in the completed reading log on Monday, March 7th to your classroom teacher. A special prize will be given to the classes who read the most amount of minutes in their grade level! Happy Reading!

Classroom Highlight - A Peek Into Our Classroom Fun

What fun it was to be a Trinity second grade student on Twosday, 2-22-22! Our second grade students had a blast celebrating this day! They enjoyed a day filled with lots of “2s” activities, which included a mini study on the book Tuesday and so much more!

Last Week in Chapel

Last week in Chapel, we began a 3 part series on Jonah. Our students learned about Jonah and how he tried to outrun God. Our students learned that God loves them so very much. God’s love doesn’t stop pursuing us. God wants the best for our lives and will do whatever it takes to reach us.

Main Idea: God never loses sight of you.

Power Verse: “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!” – Psalm 139:7

Whatchagaddaknow: I will never run from God.

Blackbaud: Classroom Updates & Information

To stay informed of what’s happening in your child’s classroom, please login into Blackbaud weekly. You will be able to see information such as weekly classroom announcements, upcoming events, weekly academic focus, grades, attendance, etc. This is the key to staying informed and will replace the hardcopy newsletter sent home in the past. I encourage you to login each week. We are excited for this new format! Information will be updated each Sunday at 5pm.

Accessing your child's class information weekly:

  • Login to your Blackbaud account and select your child's name under "Children".

  • Find your child's homeroom class under the "Progress" tab by scrolling down to where classes are listed.

  • After selecting the homeroom class, you will see the teacher's main class page where you will locate upcoming dates, class reminders and news.

  • Select the "Topics" tab to see specific information for each individual subject. Within each subject folder, you will see a plan for the week and upcoming projects and test information.

  • The "Topics" pages update each Sunday evening at 5pm and will remain current until the following Sunday evening.
