The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

This year, our Lower School is launching a new initiative to engage all grades in meaningful service projects, focusing on both our community and our school acts.

Last week, First Grade kicked off the program with a visit from Bloom Fosters. First graders learned about the Bloom Angel Tree, a program that provides gifts for children in Georgia’s foster care system during the Christmas holiday. Donors select a child’s “angel,” purchase the requested toys and clothing, and drop them off so every child can experience a special Christmas.

The Bloom representative spoke to first graders about their organization and the Angel Tree program. Over the next week, students will decorate angels to hang on the Bloom Christmas trees in support of this meaningful project. We are excited to see our students begin learning the joy of giving and serving others in our community!

This November, our Lower School will recognize and honor the veterans within our Lower School community. Families are invited to submit information and photos of the veterans in their lives so that we can celebrate them together. Please see the details below on how to participate.

Honoring Our Heroes

As Veterans Day draws near, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude and admiration. This year, we’re thrilled to come together as a Lower School family to pay tribute to the cherished veterans in our school community - your loved ones - who have served our nation with courage, sacrifice, and devotion.

We warmly invite you to share photos of your family members who are veterans, past or present, along with a brief description of their service. Your contributions will help us create a heartfelt display in our halls, celebrating their heroism and inspiring our students with stories of patriotism and gratitude. By sharing your family’s story, our students will learn a deeper appreciation for the remarkable people who safeguard our nation’s freedom.

To join us in creating our Lower School HERO WALL, please complete the following form by Monday, October 20th. We are honored to stand together in celebrating our veteran heroes!

Chapel Moments

We had such a fun time in chapel last week as Pastor Kami continued our “T.H.I.N.K. Before You Speak” series, reminding us that everything we say needs to be TRUE. Our friends Riley and Kevin led us in worship, and a group of 3rd graders helped bring our Bible story to life by acting out the story of Ananias and Sapphira from Acts 5, who lied to the Apostle Peter. Students learned that half-truths are whole lies. Lies are the opposite of Jesus. And we must speak the truth - all the time, to everyone.

Power Verse: “The Lord detest lying lips, but He delights in those who tell the truth.” Proverbs 12:22

Whatchagaddaknow: I will always speak the truth!
