Updated Attendance Process

Thank you so much for your patience as we have all been learning together how to navigate the Blackbaud system while also updating and aligning our procedures to create a better flow and process. Recently, we communicated changes in regards to our attendance process in order to help get us caught up on updating records. To do so, we implemented a Google Form to help. I’m pleased to announce that all submissions through the Google Form and older emails have been updated so your child’s attendance should be accurate at this point. We recognize there still may need to be updates made that have not yet been communicated or were somehow misplaced or overlooked in the process. Please be sure to review the guidance and steps listed below based on your child’s grade level on how to make any necessary attendance corrections and to provide absence notifications moving forward:

Pre-K through 8th Grade Process:

  • The Google Form link for reporting attendance has now been closed and will no longer be used now that all of the records have been updated.

  • Moving forward, the following steps should be taken for reporting attendance for Pre-K - 8th grade.

    • We have reopened the attendance@tcslions.org email.

    • Please send doctor’s notes and excuses for absences to the attendance@tcslions.org email moving forward.

    • Any questions or issues may be communicated through the attendance@tcslions.org email as well.

    • *PRE-ABSENCE REQUESTS (family trips, etc.) should be submitted by using the Pre-Absence Form found on Blackbaud. Forms may be printed and given to your child’s teacher at the beginning of the school day.

ALL School COVID Process:

In order to receive advisement regarding COVID, quarantine, and to discuss documented medical needs, please submit inquiries to the TCS Nursing Staff at nurses@tcslions.org.

The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

It’s October! It’s hard to believe that we are entering our ninth week of school. This is a short week as we have our two remote learning days, followed by two days of Fall break on the 11th and 12th. We will end our first nine-weeks on October 8th, so please encourage your child to finish strong this week!

Classroom Highlight

Our K4 students have been learning all about our school environment and how it honors God to take care of our school and classrooms. Our students learned about cooperation and kindness and how these characteristics can be displayed to others. Last Friday, our K4 students finished the week with a visit to the Principal’s office. We had a great time together, as I talked to them about my typical day and the role I serve in our amazing school! What an honor it was to host these precious little lions in my office! To top it off, I gave each one their very own stuffed Trinity lion!

Whatchagaddaknow: “God wants me to be faithful!”

Power Verse: “Imitate God, therefore; in everything you do, because you are His dear children.” Ephesians 5:1

Whatchagaddaknow: "If I want to be Good, I gotta be like God!”

Michelle Lackey - Third Grade Teacher

My name is Michelle Lackey, and I am so blessed and excited to be a part of Trinity this year. I graduated from "Texas Woman's University" with a degree in Elementary Education. I am originally from Texas but have recently moved here from Jackson, Tn. with my two children and wonderful husband. In Tennessee, I taught, aided, and substituted for 10+ years at a school named Trinity Christian Academy. The school was very similar to the Trinity here in Georgia. When we found it, it was a true sign that we found our home away from home here at Trinity Christian School. This year, I have a daughter that is a senior at Trinity. So I find most of my time helping her through her "special" year. My son is in aviation school and working on the side with my husband. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, running to Christian music "My Jesus Time," and playing with my dogs. Once again, I feel blessed beyond measure to be here this year as a 3rd-grade teacher and work with an amazing team.

Sarah George - Third Grade Teacher’s Assistant

My name is Sarah George. I am a Coweta County native. I graduated from Southeastern University, with a Bachelor’s in Church Ministry and Leadership. For the past decade I have been a worship leader, creative team coordinator, and singer/songwriter. Before recently relocating back to Georgia, I was on staff as the creative team coordinator and worship leader at a church in the Washington D.C. area. In my free time, I love scoping out new restaurants and coffee shops in the city.”

Atlanta has been my home for the past 4 years, but I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (the infamous dairy state, yes our ice cream is out of this WORLD). My favorite color is turquoise and some facts about me are that I am an only child, my favorite clothing stores are Zara and Urban Outfitters, Fall is my favorite season, and my middle name was given to me after my aunt (so sweet right?). I am so excited to be a part of the Trinity Christian School family this year!

The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

This past week, I was blessed to be able to teach our final Chapel of the year. We learned all about promises. We were encouraged to trust God because He will keep his promises to us.

Main Focus: You can trust God to be faithful to His promises!

Power Verse: “...for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” Hebrews 10:23

Whatchagaddaknow: All Of God’s Promises Are True!

Upcoming End-of-Year Celebrations:

  • May 24th - Kindergarten will enjoy Donuts, Pj’s, & Movie Day! Our kindergarten students will wear their cutest pj’s and eat donuts in the school cafeteria. • May 24th - First Grade will celebrate with a Bicycle/Scooter & Popsicle Day!  It’s time for them to show off their riding skills! Our first graders will enjoy riding scooters and bikes as we create a safe and fun outdoor experience. We will finish the day with a popsicle treat!

Chapel

Our students have enjoyed learning about how to “Live Like a King.”

Please see the message below from Pastor Kami:

For the last four weeks, it was a joy to teach your children that God invites us to “Live Like a King”. They have learned that Jesus is the King of Kings, and in His great love and mercy He allows us to be a part of His royal family by adopting us as His precious sons and daughters. He also encourages us to invite others to join us at the table He has prepared for us. I look forward to teaching your children more about God and His promises next year in Chapel.”

We are excited to celebrate the wide variety of God-given gifts represented in our student body at our Elementary Talent Show on Thursday, May 13th at 6:00 pm in the Student Center located in the Early Learning building.

Pastor Kami Heilman taught the third lesson in the series “Live Like a King”.

“For the next 4 weeks in Chapel we are learning what it means to “Live Like a King”, looking specifically at King David’s life and relationship with Mephibosheth. Students will be challenged to come to Jesus when they need comfort and healing, and to look for those around them who are hurting and in need. They will also learn that God has adopted us into His family and to choose their friends wisely.”  Pastor Kami
