The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

Last week was truly memorable as we came together to celebrate our students with end-of-year programs and awards. It was a wonderful time! However, we are not done yet! With just one week of school left, we have a whole lineup of fun events waiting for us.

Kicking things off is the eagerly awaited kindergarten graduation on Monday night. It's an occasion filled with warmth and pride as we celebrate our youngest learners' achievements. As a special highlight, the Falcon RV Squadron will grace the skies once again with their annual flyover in honor of our kindergarten graduates!

The excitement doesn't end here! The upcoming week is jam-packed with fun activities tailored for each grade level. Get ready for a blast with events like the Preschool: Glow Party & Ring Pops Day, Kindergarten: Popcorn, PJ’s, & Movie Day, First Grade: Scooter & Popsicle Day, Second Grade: Inflatables & TCBY Day, and Third Grade: Water Bash Day & Kona Ice. Get set to make memories and have a fantastic time!

Don't forget to visit the EOY Landing Page link for specific details regarding end of year events and more.

Last Week in Chapel

In our last Chapel of the year, both our kindergarten and third grade classes led our student body in worship during their individual Chapel services. It was a remarkable way for our kindergarteners to mark their final Chapel before transitioning to our main campus next school year. Meanwhile, our third grade students have set an exceptional example for our Lower School student body.  As a special send-off to Upper Elementary, we said a prayer of blessing over our third graders.

Last Week in Chapel

Last week’s Chapel was full of joy and excitement as we finished our “Don’t Worry About it” series. Pastor Kami had lots of help to make this chapel a great one: Kevin, Riley & a group from Mrs. Akey’s 3rd grade class led us in worship; Chuck Foo helped teach our Power Verse; and a terrific group of 3rd graders acted out our Bible story of the Prodigal Son. We learned that though we will all face hard times in life, God can bring joy out of our sadness.

Whatchagaddaknow: “Even in my hard times, God can bring me joy!

Power Verse: “Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy” Psalm 126:5

Progress Learning End Of Year Testing

This Thursday and Friday, we will be conducting our final benchmark assessment for both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. It's important to note that these assessments are designed to evaluate students' understanding of the academic concepts covered throughout the year and to measure their academic growth as an individual student.

In preparation for the final benchmark assessment, we need your assistance in the following ways:

  1. Minimize stress - Encourage students to give their best effort while reassuring them that there's no need to feel anxious about the test. This assessment is simply an opportunity for students to demonstrate what they've learned throughout the year!

  2. Attendance - It's crucial for students to be present and arrive at school on time for these testing dates. Testing will begin promptly both mornings.

  3. Rest and Routine - Please ensure that students get plenty of rest each night and have a healthy breakfast each morning to support their readiness for testing.

Last Week in Chapel

We had a great time in Chapel this week as we continued our lesson titled "Worry Doesn't Work". In last week’s lesson, we studied Matthew 6:25-34 and discussed the importance of trusting God rather than worrying. The students learned that we can overcome worry by trusting, praying, and worshiping God.

Whatchagaddaknow: “I Won't Worry About Anything!”

Power Verse: “Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything...” Philippians 4:6

Last Week in Chapel

It was a fun week in Chapel as Mrs. Duncan introduced our new series called "Don't Worry About It". In last week's lesson, through the story of Paul and Silas in jail, the students learned that they don't have to worry! Actually, they can praise God in the midst of difficult circumstances! Life is filled with uncertainty. It may be easy to focus on the things troubling us and even begin to fret. But, God promises to bring us peace when we choose to trust in Him and rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Main Focus: If you trust in God, you don't have to worry!

Power Verse: “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty." -Psalm 91:1

Whatchagaddaknow: “I Won't Worry, I Will Trust In God!

Last Week In Chapel

This week we had a special chapel service kicked off by Kevin & Riley leading us in worship. Many students helped act out the Easter story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Then our favorite Chuck Foo assisted in teaching the Bible verse, which was a long one, but a really good one to memorize. Pastor Kami taught us that God ALWAYS finishes what He starts.

Bible Verse: “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6

Whatchagaddaknow: God won’t quit until He’s through!

Last Week In Chapel

Mrs. Randolph continued our series on “The Rock: Lessons From the Life of Peter”. Through the story of Peter in prison, students learned that God can set us free from any “prison” we are in. If we find ourselves “jailed” by sinful habits we should 1) Ask for Prayer 2) Do Your Part - Obey 3) Never Look Back. We are so grateful that God is willing and able to set us free from sin.

Main Focus: God Can Set You Free From Any Sinful Habit.

Power Verse: “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” John 8:36

Whatchagaddaknow: Jesus Came And Died For Me, And From Sin, He Sets Me Free

Last Week In Chapel

Last week in Chapel we continued our series about Peter, who Jesus called “The Rock.” Pastor Kami and a few friends helped tell the Bible story from Acts 3 about Peter and John and their encounter with the lame man outside the temple gates. Rather than ignoring him or simply giving him some money, they saw him. Peter prayed for the lame man, and instantly Jesus healed him! We learned how if God could use a fisherman like Peter, He can use us to do miracles for Him too!

A group from Mrs. Burnett’s class sang along with Riley & Kevin as they led us in the worship song, “Firm Foundation.” And of course, our favorite friend “Chuck Foo” helped teach our Bible verse from Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”

We finished our Chapel time by praying for our friends and classmates who need God to work a miracle in their lives. If you’d like to spend some time talking about this with your family, check out this short devotion:

The Principal’s Piece: A Note From Mrs. Randolph

Welcome back! I hope your family enjoyed a wonderful Winter Break.

On Friday, March 1st we will be implementing a new arrival procedure for our 1st-3rd grade students.

As they enter the building during morning arrival, all 1st-3rd grade students who arrive at 7:30am or after will go straight to their classrooms, instead of going to the cafeteria. This new procedure will allow our students additional time to settle in and be prepared for class to begin at 8:00am. 1st - 3rd grade students arriving before 7:30am will continue to go to the cafeteria until 7:30am when they will be dismissed to their classrooms.

We will discuss this new arrival procedure with our students this week so they are prepared but also appreciate your support in reminding them as well. Have a great week!

Main Focus: If we repent of our sins, God will always forgive and restore us!

Power Verse: “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” Acts 3:19

Last Week in Chapel

We had a great time in Chapel this week as Mrs. Moore continued with a lesson in our series titled, The Rock. In this lesson, we learned about the attitudes and actions of Peter that served as signs that he was about to make a big mistake and sin by denying Jesus three times. We need to pay attention to attitudes and signs in our own lives that may lead to sin. If we trust in God, ask Him for help, and pray, He can help us avoid sin.

Whatchagaddaknow: “I Will Watch For The Signs!

Power Verse: “Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.” Mark 14:38

Last Week in Chapel

Mrs. Randolph continued our series about the life of Peter. In this lesson, we learned that followers of Jesus have to be willing to do what God wants, not what they want. When Jesus asked the disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”, Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” We learned that we each have to choose for ourselves - “Is Jesus MY Lord?”.

Main Focus: We must obey Jesus, no matter the cost.

Power Verse: ….”If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me….” Mark 8:34

Whatchagaddaknow: If I want to follow Jesus, I must obey.

Last Week in Chapel

Last week we had a special guest teach our Lower School chapel. Pastor Ben, who is the youth pastor at Trinity Church and happens to be married to Pastor Kami, continued our series on Peter and taught us how important it is to keep our eyes on Jesus no matter what storms may be happening around us.

Mrs. Burnett’s class, along with Kevin & Riley, led our chapel in worship. They also assisted in telling our Bible story of Peter walking on the water toward Jesus. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus he was fine, but as soon as he focused on the waves around him he began to sink.

Last Week in Chapel

We had a great time in Chapel this week as Mrs. Moore taught our first lesson in our series titled, The Rock. In this series, we will learn all about the Apostle Peter. In last week’s lesson, the students learned that Peter was just a normal fisherman until Jesus called him to be one of His disciples. Peter had to be willing to leave everything behind and follow Jesus. God wants us to be willing to do the same and put Him first in our life.

Whatchagaddaknow: “If I'm gonna follow Jesus, I have to give him my all!

Power Verse: “So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own.” Luke 14:33
