Do you remember the first time you stepped onto our Trinity campus? Do you remember learning about the first friend your child made at school? Perhaps it was a warm smile or friendly wave you received in carline. Maybe it was a conversation with another TCS parent who gave you insight on how things worked at Trinity. Perhaps it was an invite to join Trinity parents at our “Annual Trinity Boohoo/Yahoo breakfast” on the 1st day of school.. Or maybe it was an encouraging email from a teacher when you realized they understood your child perfectly that filled your heart. Whatever that moment was for you when Trinity felt like home, you came to know that Trinity means family. We believe that God has a plan for each and every child. And we are honored to be blessed with the opportunity to partner with families to help raise them up. Being a part of the Trinity family is truly a gift.

Just as in our own families, we genuinely care for, serve, and pray for one another. Our teachers and staff have been praying for each of our Lions and eagerly anticipating their arrival next month. They have been busy preparing first day of school ice breaker games and engaging lesson plans, decorating and organizing their colorful classrooms, and filling their hearts with scripture and knowledge to share with their students. Our Operations department has been tending to every last detail to keep our school operating, clean, safe, and so beautiful. Our staff has been working hard all summer to answer your questions and help this transition into a new school year be as smooth as possible for your family.

Frequently you will hear, “It is a great time to be a Lion” and that couldn’t be more true. We are welcoming many new families and staff this August, adding more exciting extracurricular activities as well as opportunities for our students to learn about God’s plan for their lives. Community is important to us at TCS and we pray for meaningful connections within our school family. Whether this is your first year or fifth year at TCS, there are many ways to connect.

Serve Together

One of the easiest ways to make new friends is through serving together. TCS PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) shares opportunities often that can be found in the weekly newsletter, Inside the Pride, and also on the Trinity Family Facebook page. The Lions Club, our athletics booster club, is looking for volunteers to assist in various roles as well. More about these volunteer needs can also be found in Inside the Pride. If your child is involved with performing arts or athletics, there are numerous service opportunities throughout the season.

Attend Events

One thing is for sure, there is always something going on on our campus Any given night of the week, you will find cars pulling in with families ready to cheer on their kiddos. Whether a performing arts or athletics event, afterschool clubs, or a school wide event, there is something for everyone. Checking the school calendar online and the weekly newsletter, Inside the Pride, are the easiest ways to find out the latest happenings on campus. What’s more fun than making plans to attend an event and grab an ice cream cone with fellow Lions to help build meaningful and lasting friendships for your student and your family.

Share a Smile

Lastly, the easiest way to connect with others in our school community and spread joy is by sharing a smile. Yup, that’s all. Just a simple smile. Next Sunday evening we will have our first family reunion of the school year called “Welcome to the ROAR”. Our stadium will be filled with hundreds of future friends some you may have seen before and others you haven’t. Don’t let this special opportunity pass by without meeting and greeting some new faces. Lion nation is a one of a kind and you are what makes it so special. We can’t wait to see God’s kingdom come together to celebrate the start of this brand new school year. Welcome home Lions!

School Is Out For The Summer!

School Is Out For The Summer!

Well, we did it!! Our Lions successfully completed another amazing year of school. Whether it was your family’s first year at TCS or you’ve been here for a while, we are thankful you chose to be a part of our family. We hope each of the end of the year celebrations were meaningful and created last memories for your Lions and for your entire family.

Some of our students overcame adversity this year and as they say “conquered their Everest”. Some of our students learned to play new instruments or try a new sport. Our students made new friends, tried new foods, and learned new ways of solving problems. They took trips to explore new places and read books that took them to far off lands and spaces in time. One thing is for sure, all of our students learned more about God’s love and more about His plan for each of their lives.

This last month of May (some parents lovingly refer to as “May-hem”) has been full of parties, performances, and parades! From the littlest to the biggest, our Lions were celebrated in so many ways. Our preschool students enjoyed glow parties and ring pops. Our Kindergarten kiddos had a movie day and pajama party after marching to the stadium for their graduation complete with a Falcon RV Squadron flyover. Our fabulous 1st graders enjoyed fun on scooters and popsicles while our super 2nd graders jumped the time away on inflatables and TCBY treats. Our terrific 3rd graders splashed away in a water day bash with Coweta firetrucks, water slides, and Kona Ice. Our fantastic 4th graders celebrated with an awesome field day experience, inflatables, and snow cones. Our fun 5th graders also enjoyed a field day, completed their 5th grade walk with hundreds of parents, grandparents, and special friends in attendance before an epic parents vs. students kick ball game and pizza party. Our 6th and 7th graders celebrated off campus with parties at the Skating Rink and Bowling Alley. Our 8th graders danced the night away at their Country Western theme 8th grade dance. Our high school students participated in daily events led by Student Council and were invited to Honors awards nights. And finally our senior class enjoyed a time of all things Senior’s from parties to parades and finally graduation. What an incredible time it was to be a Lion!

The last snacks have been packed, no more projects to work on or tests to study for, and we can stay up as late as we want because there is no morning carline for the next 70 days.

We couldn’t be more proud of the hard work each of our students put in this school year. Whether your family is traveling or having a staycation, working or serving, resting or playing, we pray your time together is sweet and fills your hearts with joy. And we are eagerly counting the days until you are all back on campus this August!!

Porter Haire

5/1/23 - 11th grade

Porter is currently a junior who competes in the long, triple, and high jump events.  Additionally, Porter now shares the high jump record (6-2) and broke the long jump record (22-8) this season, a record previously held since the 2017 season.  As Porter competes at a high level he also leads by example through his actions, motivating and encouraging his teammates to compete to the best of their abilities.  Porter will compete at the GHSA 4A Region 4 event in all his events for a chance to qualify to the GHSA Sectionals event set to take place on May 6th.  Recently, Porter was baptized in front of his peers and family at TCS during a night of celebration! 

Abigail Arrington

5/8/23 - 10th grade

Abigail is the type of player that a coach loves to coach. She has so much natural talent and is very coachable. For the past 2 seasons she has played line 1 singles and has played some of the best competition in the state. She gives every match her all and is very consistent on the court. We know she is going to do amazing things for the TCS tennis program the next couple of years.

5/15/23 -11th grade

Mary is currently a sophomore student athlete who competes in the shot put and discus events.  Mary truly is a servant leader who leads by example both on and off the field as a thrower.  She inspires her teammates, including the throwers group, to achieve their personal records during practice and in competition.  As Mary is not competing in the GHSA 4A Region 4 event she is at practice each day, working alongside her teammates at practice.  Mary is also devoted to her small group at church that meets on Wednesday after practice which is a foundation of her daily walk.

5/22/23 - 10th grade

Jessalyn is a sophomore who started playing competitive golf last year.  She is the most consistent golfer in our program.  She is one of the leaders on our girls golf team.  Our girls team finished 1AAAA runners up and will be playing the GHSA State Tournament.  Jessalyn is a leader on and off of the course.  She excels at a high level in the classroom taking advanced courses. She is also a hard worker on the golf course.  She is constantly working at improving her game.  GO LIONS!

Just a few days from now 125 students will cross the stage at graduation and head out into the great big world equipped with their Faith and a bright future. It has been a long standing tradition at Trinity that the graduating Seniors share bits of wisdom and encouragement with lowerclassmen before they leave in an experience called “Senior Moments”. This past week over 500 of our high school students gathered together in the stadium and in the gym to participate in this special tradition. A wonderful group of young men and women, some whom have been a part of TCS for more than a decade, volunteered to share their hearts with the high school.

High School Bible teacher Mr. Brannon sat with the students on Wednesday morning as they shared their Faith, their experiences in life and here at Trinity, and encouragement with the student body in the stadium. Dr. Anthony met with students during the last Chapel of the school year in the gym on Thursday morning. Our students leaned in close and likely left with nuggets of wisdom to apply in their own day to day lives. Wisdom that our students have gained from their experiences at Trinity is worth more than gold. To hear these students who are preparing to launch share about their Faith foundation makes every single sacrifice completely worth while. To sum up what each student shared, below are words of wisdom from some of our graduating class of 2023. Be proud Lion Nation! This generation of servant leaders is going to change the world!!

“This school is unique in its atmosphere. We are truly a family. I have been at 3 different schools before Trinity and there is something special about our school. My advice is to take your spiritual life seriously.” Brianna Hernandez, TCS student for 3 years.

“Community is everything. I’ve never had a teacher that I couldn’t go talk to. My advice is to start forming good habits early whether it’s praying or reading our Bibles every day. It’s never too late to form good habits.” Caden Jones, TCS student for 13 years.

“Trinity is such a blessing. It’s the only place I have ever known. I have learned that Jesus is the only one who can give us the strength to get through hard times. My advice is to use every opportunity you have to encourage others.” Gracyn Duncan, TCS student for 13 years.

“Trinity is home for me, I rarely leave campus before 8pm. Our Trinity family is everything. My experience has been that the power of prayer helps us deal with hardships and my advice to share is that we need to own our Faith.” Dylan DePriest, TCS student for 12 years.

Grant Summers

4/10/23 - 12th grade

Grant Summer is a senior golfer at Trinity.  He has played in our program for the past 4 seasons.  Grant led our team in both of our Varsity events in scoring this past week.  He shot a 38 against Whitewater High School to lead the Lions Golf team to a big area win.  Grant is an outstanding golfer but and even better person.  He would be an outstanding representative of TCS for the Athlete of the week. 

Campbell Askew

4/17/23 -9th grade

Campbell is a fearless competitor at Tennis. He is playing our line 1 singles as a Freshman this season and plays every point with his all. Playing some of the best competition in the state he has been able to not only compete with each opponent but win multiple matches. He is a competitor and that shows on the courts.  We are so excited to see what is ahead for Campbell and his tennis career.

4/24/23 - 12th grade

Tai Peete, a senior, had a great game this past Tuesday hitting a double and a three run homer to left center to help us win a big game against Troup Co. 5-3. He also made an unbelievable diving catch over his head with his bare hand. That play should be on ESPN Web gems. Tai is having a fantastic year so far and is tied for third in the state with ten home runs.

Though it’s our Lady Lions first time competing in GHSA 4A, they are fearless and full speed ahead. Our girls team has been on the road quite a bit lately traveling 4 hours down to play Southeast Bulloch last week. After a 2 1/2 hour weather delay, they brought home the “W” and returned to campus around 3am in the morning. Last night they traveled to play Shaw of Columbus and brought home another win of 7-0 to advance them into the Elite 8.

Coach Lance Duncan shared how proud he was of the girls and especially the younger members of the team. “Freshman Peyton Daniels scored 2 goals and started the scoring. Fellow Freshman Ashlyn Ing scored 3 goals, Freshman Kathryn Andrews scored 1 goal and Sophomore Hudson Deutscher scored 1 goal. Assists by Jordan Rawlings (Junior) - 1 , Emerson Reifschnieder (Junior) - 2. 3 goal saves from Lily Wozniak (Sophomore) and a combined clean sheet from Wozniak and Saylor Clough. Defensive lead by Senior Captain Olivia Osse and Sophomore standout Seanna Johnson.”

Goalie Coach Jessica Charman shares, “Elite Eight Bound! Unbelievably proud of the goalkeeper union we have built this year and how they are so coachable and determined. Thankful for this opportunity to shape lives on and off the field. Colossians 3:23”

Our Lady Lions travel to Lovett on Monday, 4/24, for a 5:30pm game time. Coach Lance Duncan shares, “I love the work rate of this team and the unselfish nature they possess. They are working to improve each of their teammates and have made major stride on the field this season. This is an incredible group of young ladies who represent TCS so well both on and off the field.” Let’s Go Lady Lions!!!

Wil Rinkenberger, junior captain, has played really well to start the season. His leadership in helping our young team has been incredible. Wil has a great work ethic and truly shows what it means to be a TCS Lion.

Olivia Osse is a senior captain for the Lady Lions Soccer team. She is a returning 1st team all-region center back who has picked up where she left off last season. Olivia is not only a great player but a fantastic leader of this team. Olivia has been able to record several goals and assist from her Center back position this season and is leading our team in to region play for the first time at the 4-A level. Olivia is a fantastic student with well over a 4.0 GPA and excels in multiple sports.

Sophomore Kyva Holloway helped lead the Lions to victory against Woodward and Stratford Academy last week. Over the two games, she scored 13 goals and 4 assists and tallied over 15 caused turnovers, ground balls, and draw controls each.

RJ is a consistent hardworking player and is always the first one ready for practice. He always has a positive attitude and lifts up his teammates when things happen. 

Trinity Baptism Night

On Monday evening March 20th at 7pm in the High School Multipurpose Room our students, parents, friends, and extended family filled up every available seat as they gathered to celebrate the baptism of 14 Trinity high school students. What started as a space with 100 chairs set up around a baptismal quickly filled and became a space where over 300 seats were brought in with staff standing along the back and sides of the room as well as students sitting on the floor. What a cloud of witnesses it was!

TCS Staff AB and Lizzie Perez opened the evening by leading us in beautiful songs of worship to prepare our hearts. High School Bible teachers and Discipleship Group leaders Patrick Brannon, KC Lorow, Chris Paschal, Reed Shackelford, and Ron Edwards each spoke and shared encouragement through scripture while performing baptisms. They invited each of the students up to the podium one at a time where they spoke confidently about their Faith journey thus far and how they were ready to take the next step in baptism. They shared personal stories of how they have felt God working in their lives and why they wanted to surrender their lives over to Him. As each student stepped into the water, their family and friends were called to the front and surrounded them. What a beautiful picture of God’s people loving and supporting one another during one of the biggest decisions they will make in their life.

Over the course of the 2 hours, the Lord’s presence was evident. Once every student was baptized, there was a time of fellowship. Though it was almost 9pm on a Monday night, no one ran for the doors. Families stayed, friends hugged, and students filled beautiful keepsake journals with words of encouragement for each of the students to take home and read. What a thoughtful treasure.

TCS parent Bridget Paschal shares, “Just another reason I am so thankful to be a apart of the Trinity family! Thank you to all the teachers, coaches, and staff that pour their lives and love of Jesus into our kids. God is at work at Trinity Christian School and I am so thankful for these students boldness to profess their Faith and commitment to walk with Jesus!”

Trinity Varsity Softball Coach Katey Rutherford attended both the Trinity Baptism Night and also the baptism at one of her players the day before at her church home. Coach Katey shares, “My heart is so full of joy for these girls. God is writing a beautiful story for their lives and this is the only the beginning! So grateful the Lord gives me the opportunity to love, coach, lead, and most importantly learn from these girls. They are alive and forgiven, found and free, proclaiming their new life in Christ. THIS is what it is all about!”

TCS parent Nancy McPherson and Mom to Caroline McPherson shares, “Trinity has opened my children’s eyes and strengthened their walk with Christ in so many ways. There are just no words to describe how powerful the evening was. 14 amazing young people dedicated their life and I am so happy we were a part of it. I am in awe of the Bible teachers at Trinity - thru them God is changing lives!”

Dr. Anthony shared this week, “In a recent all-staff devotional time, I had asked the staff to join me in prayer - asking that our students would experience a revival in their hearts, similar to what we are hearing about at Asbury Seminary. Afterwards, one of our HS bible teachers informed, "Dr. Anthony, God is moving in our classes, mission trips, and chapel services. I think we are already experiencing revival!"

Then, while I was on a church staff retreat in North Georgia, I received several messages and pictures of baptisms taking place in the HS auditorium. 14 of our HS students made a public profession of their faith before 300 of their closest family, friends, and peers. The encouragement, worship, support, and celebration was so meaningful to those who were able to attend.

God is moving in our midst. While He is touching our students, maybe you could take a moment and ask Jesus to touch you too!”

“I feel like God works in mysterious ways. Right before I graduate having this incredibly rare opportunity to be baptized. Not only can I do this in front of my peers, but I feel like I am doing in front of a family of people that I have really come to love and grow with.“

“Everything changed about this time last year when I went to D group for the first time. I also went to Ecuador for GO Week. Being in Ecuador helped changed my whole perspective on why I am here and why God put me on earth to be a messenger for Him. “

If you were lucky enough to get tickets to watch the Roaring Dramatics rendition of “Les Miserables” last weekend, than you know what an incredible performance it was! All four nights of performances sold out in both General Admission and the VIP seating. It was a show of all shows and one that will go down in the memory books as one of the greatest Trinity Christian School has ever produced.

Director Mrs. Lizzie Perez shares, “What an absolutely honor to spend my first full year at TCS with the most talented and passionate students and parents I have ever met. Last year when we worked together for Beauty and the Beast, Mr. Zarlenga and I looked at each other and knew we had the talent to pull off this incredible show. To that point, they have completely exceeded every expectation - from their talent, to their preparation, their hard work, and more importantly their heart.

This story comes with so much hope amidst the darkness of this world. Through out we meet and fall in love with characters wrestling and struggling with this idea of, “climbing to the light” smack in the middle of consuming darkness.”

Mrs. Perez goes on to share, “If we are honest, in this world we are all The Poor Ones without Christ. Like Fantine we are all searching for anyhing that can solve our problems or fill the void in our lives. Like the Thenardiers, we search for ways where can come out on top, no matter the cost. Like Eponine, we long for things that cannot be and forge any way to make those dreams a reality. LIke Javert even, we hold tighjt on the black and white of this world, gripping to what we can control and losing all sense of reality. And like Valjean, we ALL fall short and listen to the voices that tell us who we are labels as, instead of what we are called to be.

When, like our main character Valjean, you come face to face with grace in your life, my prayer is that you would chose to grasp hold of that grace, not your accomplishments, and cling to the true freedom found only in love.”

From cast to crew and front of house experience, there were 65 incredible students and dozens of devoted parents and staff involved with make up, hair, choreography, VIP experience, backstage crew, technical elements, and actors!

Students auditioned right before Thanksgiving break last year and had a couple of weeks of rehearsal in the Fall. The productions took just over 12 weeks to prepare for. Our Roaring Dramatics received generous support and encouragement from The Logos Theatre, founded by Gabe Rivera’s grandparents and now run by his aunt and uncle.

Mrs. Perez is grateful to ALL staff and parents that gave of their time in addition to their day to day roles: TCS Staff. Nicholas Yeakley, Thomas Schatzberg, Chris Litton, Dale Zarlenga, Kiley Huddleston, Jenn Duncan, and TCS parents Amber Poelman, Lisa Wootten, and Clark and Ashley Johnson. A very special thanks also to Jennifer Cook painting the sets and to Mark Cannon for building the sets!  The cast and crew are beyond thankful to photographers and videographer’s Shannon Dallas, Oscar Camejo, and Evan Davison for capturing the events in photos and videos.. And Mrs. Perez is so very proud of senior student Michelina Ryan for her choreography of the entire show!

Mrs. Perez shares, “One of the best and most impactful parts of this show are the conversations our students are starting to have after experiencing Les Mis. Leaning into grace and really wrestling with times when they, like Javert, have been so hard nosed and open to the idea of the TRUE freedom found in the Love of Christ.”

TCS Head of School Dr. Anthony attended three out of four performances and was truly inspired. He shared at the end of the performances a vision for a brand new Performing Arts space for our school. We can’t wait to see what God does in the years to come and have faith that it will far surpass anything we could even imagine.

Trinity Christian School celebrated “Read Across America Week” Monday, February 27th through Friday, March 3rd. Each day our Lower and Upper School classroom teachers prepared engaging lessons filled with a wide variety of reading and writing activities for our students.

Our classrooms had several special people visit to read to them. Assistant Head of School Mr. Bass, High School Principal Mrs. Jones, and Lower School Principal Mrs. Randolph to name just a few. They all loved reading to our little Lions and encouraged them to read as many books as they could to compete in the Grade Level Reading contest last week. (Grade level winners to be announced soon)

Mrs. Felkner, our Lower School STEAM teacher, had a fun “Raindrop Plop” Science lesson for our Early Learning classes in GO Church with foam and food coloring, it just doesn’t get any better! Our students loved it!

Themed dress down days were the highlight of the week as well and our students loved getting dressed up almost as much as our teachers and staff!

Trinity Hosts 1st TCS Soccer Showcase

On Saturday, March 4th Trinity Christian School hosted the “TCS Soccer Showcase” for more than a dozen high school soccer teams from all over Georgia. After a rainy and windy week, the weather couldn’t have been any better for some friendly competition. If it’s one thing TCS Director of Soccer and Varsity Boys Soccer Coach Mike Townson knows, it’s that athletes are eager to have as many opportunities to play the sport they love as possible.

Coach Townson shared, “TCS had the great opportunity to showcase our top notch facility in the TCS Soccer Showcase. We had some of the best teams in the state playing in front of college coaches. Anything we can do to promote our players we will do to help get them into college.” As a result of the showcase, several high school soccer players received offers from college coaches. We couldn’t be more excited for these student athletes and what is in store for them this Fall!

Coach Aaron Wessner from Sprayberry High School shared, “Trinity Christian provided one of the best showcases that Sprayberry has ever taken part in. The facilities were amazing and Coach Townson’s tireless efforts to make sure our players had access to college coaches and were able to discuss their abilities are unmatched. I would highly suggest other teams bring their players to this showcase in the future so that their players can be highlighted like ours have been.”

Coach Bobby Jarwoski from GMC High School shared, “The showcase was able to squeeze our Girls teams into the lineup at the last minute. Both of our teams had an amazing time seeing a different areas of the state, and teams we might not have ever had a chance to play. The showcase itself ran smoothly, had great facilities, and had some really cool ammentities to offer the kids, parents, and fans. College coaches were present and spoke with our players. As a coach, we hope to extend opportunities for all of our kids. This event checked every box.”

Coach Jon Callahan from LaGrange High School shared, “My team and I greatly enjoyed the showcase event at Trinity Christian School!

Coach Townson and his staff at TCS really rolled out the red carpet for us and all the teams involved. Their first class facilities as well as great and diverse competition really made for an outstanding event in front of many college coaches. We will certainly be back next year.”

Andrews College Head Coach Kyle Griffith shared, “The TCS Soccer Showcase was a fantastic event! Coach Townson organized and ran this showcase as well or better than any tournament or showcase I have ever attended. I came away super impressed with the soccer that was on display. This will definitely be an event that Andrew College Men’s Soccer attend every year!”

Local food truck owner Mike Chavez and his “Biscuits & Burrito’s” business kept all of the players and parents well few with their delicious food. There wasn’t a time between games when there wasn’t a line of hungry folks at their food truck.

With the help of from the Sprayberry High School team, our Boys soccer team and Trinity Soccer parent, Weston Godfrey, put their brand new TEQball table together and had some fun with it before they took the field for their 8pm game. Our Varsity Boys soccer team are now 3-3-3 for the season and 1-0-0 in Region after their 7-2 win against Fayette High School last Friday night.

If you have a child who is interested in soccer, it’s couldn’t be a better time to get them involved in the growing program here at Trinity. It’s a great time to be a Lion!

Trinity Church and Trinity Christian School hosts Father Daughter and Mother Son Night

Last week Trinity Church partnered with Trinity Christian School Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) to host a Father Daughter Dance and Mother Son Game Night on Friday, February 24th. The purpose for these fun events was to provide an opportunity for families to spend meaningful time together and make memories that would last a lifetime. 

Due to an overwhelming response, there were 2 dances and both were sold out. What an amazing turn out and blessing for our families! Our Mother Son Game night was full as well and such a gift of time for all in attendance.

Trinity Varsity Football Coach and M46 Dad cofounder Kenny Dallas opened up the Father Daughter Dances with a word of prayer and encouragement to our Dad’s. M46 DADS inspires and equips fathers to intentionally fight for the hearts of their children (M46 Dads). They meet on the last Friday morning of the month here in the Student Center at Trinity Church/Trinity Christian School at 6:30am. The next meeting is Friday, March 31st. Coach Dallas encourages Dad’s to constantly pour into their children and to “fill their cups”.

Our Fathers and daughters enjoyed a special time of dancing, meeting Disney princesses, and enjoying a sweet treat together that included strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels, and graham crackers to dip in chocolate.

Trinity Church Kids Pastor Kami Hellman opened up the Mother Son Game event with a word of encouragement from the story about Bathsheba and King Solomon. King Solomon wrote about the importance of following a mother’s guidance throughout life in Proverbs.

Pastor Kami encouraged our Mom’s to savor every moment with their sons, to embrace their endless energy, and savor their silliness. The Mother’s and sons came dressed up in 4 different colors and broke into teams. Two of the teams made their own ice cream sundaes and took pictures in the photo booth in the High School Multipurpose Room, while the other 2 teams went outside to play kickball in the stadium. Moments after the first 2 groups went outside to play kickball, it started raining cats and dogs. They boys of course loved playing in the rain and getting soaking wet. The Mom’s cheered their boys on for a few innings while taking shelter under the tent. The boys said it was the “BEST NIGHT EVER!” and the Mom’s did too. Once everyone came inside and enjoyed their sundaes, the games continued. Lots of laughter filled the air and we are pretty sure everyone left tired.

Trinity Church Kids Pastor Kami Hellman shared, “As we all know, we can get so caught up in the busyness of life that we forget to slow down and enjoy our families. Our families are a gift from God and we want to treasure the time we have together. Thank you TCS, for your amazing support and involvement in these events. We look forward to hosting these special family events again next year. All of the proceeds benefited our missions-giving through the church and we were able to raise nearly $3,000! We split the money between our youth missions. The first is Speed the Light (link) which buys vehicles for missionaries, helps provides wells, and other vital equipment needed to spread the gospel and our kids missions. The second youth mission we support is Boys & Girls Missionary Challenge (BGMC) which provides missionaries with the funds needed to supplement feeding programs, school fees, and whatever else they need to reach boys & girls around the world with the good news of Jesus! Our goal for Speed the Light and BGMC is $25,000 EACH for 2023! Last year we raised around $22,000 each. With God’s help, we can do it!”

2023 Trinity hosts Track & Field All Comers Meet

2023 Trinity hosts Track & Field All Comers Meet

On Saturday, February 25th Trinity Christian School hosted the Track & Field All Comers Meet with 19 schools and over 738 student athletes in attendance. The meet was dedicated to Javier Jenkins who served for 23 years as a staff member at Dominion Christian School. Coach Jenkins is a hero in the eyes of many of our TCS T&F Coaching staff.

Trinity Director of Track & Field and Student Development Coach JP Weaver shares, “Congratulations to each student athlete who is a part of the TCS T&F team.  The coaching staff is motivated about the full effort that resulted in the overall performances in all the jumping, throwing, and running events that were a part of the competition.  The boys and girls teams both finished in the top 3 overall for High School and Middle School.

Additionally, the Lion Nation volunteers deserve a huge round of applause for stepping right in the middle of the experience to make the Lion All-Comers Meet a huge success.  Without the involvement from our volunteers, it's impossible to run an event of this magnitude to be successful from all different angles.  

To have all the coaches, spectators, officials and vendors on campus to participate in the event from start to finish was well worth each minute of the 9 hour event.  Personally, I am grateful for the home meet experience that included having over 730 middle and high school student athletes competing on campus this past weekend.  Not to mention, understanding at times, there were over 1,500 people inside the stadium to be a part of the event! 

We faced some adversity at times which included battling it out with the weather starting on Friday afternoon that was consistent throughout the event.  Adjustments were also made during the meet due to technical difficulties, but each volunteer and official didn't miss a beat to continue running the event.”

Coach Weaver goes on to share, “There is a great amount of positive energy around campus about this sport. It’s a privilege to have the ability to offer student athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest level in a universal sport.

We are excited about the addition of the new Pole Vole Standards and the 40 new hurdles that have been adopted through our ‘Adopt a Hurdle’ program from parents and Lions Club. The new shot put area has been an awesome addition as well.”

The Trinity Track & Field program is growing each year and alumni have gone on to compete at 12 different colleges and universities including: Anderson University, Augusta University, Berry College, Birmingham Southern, Cedarville University, Columbus State University, Covenant College, Crown University, Emmanuel College, Kennesaw State University, Truett-McConnell University, and University of West Georgia.

Bryce Ryan is a sophomore swimmer! He has 4 individual state qualifications in the 200fr, 500fr, 100fly, and 100back. He also has been the high points winner for the males for almost every meet we have had this year.

Senior Madison Morge set a new school record of 10 three pointers in one game against Troup County on Friday, January 20. Madison continues to be a pillar and leader of our basketball program as she has been throughout her high school years.

Tori Taylor

2/27/23 - 12th grade

Tori Taylor is nominated for athlete of the week honors for her consistent performance and dedication to the sport of archery at Trinity Christian School.  She has repeatedly demonstrated ability to post high scores in all tournaments and leads the Trinity Lions in scoring average (278) through eight tournaments.  She is also the current record holder at the school with a 285 out of a possible 300 points and has shot multiple perfect ends of 50 points in district tournaments. She is an intellectually gifted student leader on and off the archery range and is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2023.

What a special invitation Trinity Christian School received to participate in the 2022 “Light Up Senoia” Christmas Parade. It was the 1st time to be a part of the parade for TCS and was a wonderful way to engage with the community and spread Christmas cheer. An outstanding team of Trinity parents led by Nancy McPherson, Leslie & Dan Odom, Kathryn James, Amy Patterson, and Tanya Harris went above and beyond to help to create a truly magical float. Nancy McPherson shared, “This float took a team of parents coming together and sharing their talents and gifts. It wasn’t any one person, it took all of us to make it happen.“ The Trinity float looked like something right out of movie when it came through downtown Senoia.

Our Trinity Cheer Coach Gale Hickman and her squad of JV & Varsity Cheerleaders walked with our Little Lions Cheer Campers up Main Street ringing jingle bells and wearing purple Christmas hats. Snow filled the air all around our float with our Trinity Lion waving at all the families lining the streets.

Last month Trinity Christian School connected with local non-profit Bloom Closet about how to help during the Christmas season. Our little lions at our TCS - GO Church location decorated paper angels and hung them on a Christmas tree in the lobby of the Early Learning building. At their Thanksgiving program before break, families were encouraged to choose a paper angel off the tree that had a child’s name and wish list item on the back. Families shopped for Christmas gifts and delivered them this week..

At the Bloom Closet in Fayetteville, foster children receive clothing, toys, and other items - all at no cost. The Bloom Closet Express, a traveling boutique, reachers foster children all over the state of Georgia. It was parked outside of our TCS - GO Church campus so families could learn how children in the foster care system could shop to new items. The Bloom Closet provides clothing, toys, and other items to more than 5,000 foster children right here in our state. The Bloom Closet webpage has more information about this wonderful ministry, volunteer opportunities, and ways to make a donations.

Jill Cook, Community Engagement Specialist with Bloom Closet and TCS Mom, shares, “The impact the Angel Tree makes in the lives of these foster children is immeasurable.” She loved showing how God has blessed the Bloom Closet Express as it was full of items for children to shop in. Jill also shared that, “The gifts are given to the Bloom foster children at the Bloom holiday party and under the tree on Christmas morning. Bloom’s foster children come from situations of neglect, abandonment, and other tragic circumstances. For most, this will be their first year celebrating the holidays with a new foster family. With your help, we can make each and every Christmas a very special memory for the children in Bloom’s care.“

Our Trinity Christian Volleyball team made it to the GHSA Class 4A Final Four. We couldn’t be more proud of our Lady Lions who made history as a GHSA volleyball program after winning 4 GISA state titles. Our Lady Lions put up a good fight against Pace Academy last Saturday and will come back even stronger next season. We are excited about the growth of the program at Trinity and can’t wait to see what next year holds for this amazing group of student athletes.

Coach Sara Kuchinski shares “This season was one of growth. From the very beginning back in June, when we were working out on the field and getting as many touches as possible on the court, all the way to just last week competing in the Final Four of the state playoffs, this team grew. They grew together as a unit rather than individuals, they grew as players each getting stronger in every single aspect of the game. I am so very proud of the amount of improvement they made this season. You can look at every player on the roster and you can see from point A to point Z that they improved in their game! We competed against some big teams, and although the outcome may not have been what we wanted, the amount of fight and tenacity that this group showed was awesome to see.”

How did your team overcome adversity?

“How didn't we overcome adversity is the real question! You start off with a brand new coach, add in five freshmen, only four varsity returners, plus we had several injuries throughout the season to key players on the team. That amounts to (if you ask me) an absurd amount of adversity! The lack of experience this team had not only playing together, but also playing at this high a level was difficult to overcome. However, they worked very hard together to communicate, encourage, and push each other in practice to be better. Injuries were abundant for us this year as well. Lily Floyd, our starting setter, went down in late August, and Genna Rinkenberger, a Freshman, stepped up and stepped into her role and filled it beautifully! Then, Lindsey Carter went down with an ankle injury, putting us down a starting all around outside hitter. And then we lost Peyton Hayes to yet another ankle injury right in the middle of our run in State! Kaylyn Tackett, our lone Senior, stepped up and filled Peyton's role as a middle hitter without a single complaint! I'd say this team learned how to lean on each other when things got tough, and how God has a plan for every little thing that happens in our lives. That was one of our biggest focuses this season, what can you control? Only you. Do your best, give it your all, and don't worry about the rest because God has it.”

What are your hopes for the program moving forward?

“My hope for the program moving forward is just that, keep moving forward. There is so much potential in the entire volleyball program at TCS, and I hope to continue to help foster it's growth! We have a competitive group that only graduates one Senior, so I'm telling you now, keep your eyes out for TCS Varsity Volleyball because they could be fighting for a State title next season.”

Kaylee Croft - Softball

Kaylee has been having outstanding performances both in the circle and at the plate. So far this season she has had 87 strikeouts and is batting .463. She is dominating both in the circle and at the plate.

SeAnna Johnson - Softball

SeAnna has been a tremendous addition to our outfield this season. She is super fast and is tracking down any ball hit her way. She has also been averaging 1+ hits in every game.

Shawn Braxton - Football

10/3/22

Shawn is a 5’11, 195lb Safety and Running-back. Shawn has a 4.15 GPA and is committeed to playing college football at the prestigious Davidson College. Shawn was an All-State First Team player as a junior and is a captain of this year’s team.

Emerson Reifschneider - Cheer

10/10/22

Emerson serves as a Captain on the Trinity Varsity Cheer squad. This is her third year on Varsity and her 13th year cheering. Emerson is a fierce competitor. She is a remarkable cheerleader. Emerson was chosen this July for All American Cheerleader with UCA. She has the ability to lead a crowd and her team. Emerson fully covers the sport aspect of cheer. She stunts, tumbles, and has award-winning jumps. Stunting and tumbling takes tons of work to perfect all the components and Emerson definitely puts in the work.

Trinity Church and Trinity Christian School hosted their annual Fall Family Fest on Thursday, October 27th, in Lions Stadium for families to gather together to enjoy fun, fellowship, and food. There was plenty of inflatables and carnival games on the field, a Chili Cook-off, Dessert Bake-off, and new this year a Student Dessert Bake-off. We were blessed with a beautiful Fall evening with blue skies and mild temperatures.

With some of our favorite Christian songs playing, kiddos running and playing on the field, families catching up, and upcoming events scrolling on our brand new LionVision board, fun was had by all. TCS families generously donated hundreds of pieces of candy and helped make 1,000 bags of candy to hand out. Trinity Church served up hundreds of hotdogs, chips, and drinks. Both Trinity Church and Trinity Christian School families brought crockpots full of their favorite chili recipes and desserts. Students were even part of the fun this year and participated in a new student Bake-off. Trinity Student Council and BETA Club students assisted with face painting, serving cotton candy and popcorn, and engaged with little ones playing carnival games and inflatables. Trinity Staff and Faculty greeted our families and helped with carnival games and inflatables.

Trinity Middle School Academic Bowl Team places 2nd in Region and Advances to State

This week our Middle School Academic Bowl Team attended a regional GAPPS Academic Competition in LaGrange. TCS Academic Bowl Coaches Mrs. Abby Akins & Mrs. Kiley Huddleston are excited about this new Academic Bowl Team for the 2022-23 school year. The team is comprised of students who excel in various academic subjects and popular topics. Students compete in Jeopardy-style regional competitions. They are chosen for the team based upon their total score on a Google Forms Tryout Test and Teacher recommendation.

We are so excited to share that our Academic Bowl Team came in 2nd place this week and will advance to State next week. Mia Petterson and Caleb Walls also placed individually and advance to State. Coach Akins shared, “What a great competition! We are so proud of our team and how they worked together and honored God with their talents!” Way to represent Lions!!
